FACES OF CORPORATE: Meet Grace from TRACKSUIT

What is your role within the TRACKSUIT Team? I work within the People team as the People Operations Specialist. My role is to help set up our employees for success by ensuring they have the best possible experience working at Tracksuit. This not only includes their work environment but also their mental and physical health.

How did your company hear about FAT? What has been your / your teams’ experience with FAT so far?Our Auckland team worked out of the Generator Madden Street office for a few months last year and heard about FAT from the Generator team. We then booked a yoga session with Summer and have continued to use FAT for off site events and the recent Mindfulness Series.

TRACKSUIT & FAT are in the middle of a Mindfulness Series, can you tell us more about it? And the reason behind this initiative?

We were looking for an inclusive wellness activity that the entire Auckland team could attend. It needed to be easily accessible for all fitness levels, a time for everyone to switch off (even if briefly) from work, and something that we could run inside over the winter months. Kevin suggested the Mindfulness Series, and we were sold.

What advice would you give other companies thinking of getting FAT on board?

Do it! Kevin and the team are awesome and offer such a wide range of services that there will be something for everyone (I mean, the company name says it all!). Kevin listens to your needs and provides tailored solutions. The instructors are super friendly and experts at what they do (shoutout to Summer and Taylor!)

What else does your employee wellness program involve?

We run a range of initiatives across our global offices but a few stand outs are:

  • Annual Wellness Bonus that employees can spend on whatever suits their own wellness needs.
  • Making time for activities in the workplace. These range from games of  table tennis, to employee-led run clubs (we have one in each global office!), team walks around the park, and dedicated stretch breaks throughout the week.
  • Access to an online mental health wellbeing platform that provides resilience training and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) therapy.

Tracksuit recognises that while tangible wellness initiatives are extremely important, we also acknowledge that other factors play a significant role in supporting employee wellness. These include having flexible work arrangements, feeling supported and cared for in the workplace, and feeling safe to be vulnerable and share experiences with others. At Tracksuit, wellness is about supporting our team in both their work and personal lives.

In your ideal world, what does wellness in the workplace look like?

In my ideal world, workplace wellness means ensuring that every aspect of the workplace supports overall well-being and recognising that wellness can look different for each individual.

If you could highlight three main benefits you and your colleagues get from your FAT sessions, what would they be?

  • Being able to switch off from the busyness of a rapidly growing start up!
  • Checking in with ourselves and bodies - What can we work on? What moments did we enjoy from the session that we can carry over to other activities?
  • Coming together as a team and all leaving smiling!
