Meet Kat: One of our favourite frenchie!

Hi everyone! I’m Katrina (aka Kat) and I moved to New Zealand a couple months ago for a new job. I was born in the US but was raised in southwest France, near the Basque Country. I am an easy-going person who enjoys sharing simple moments with family and friends. I cannot spend a day without listening to music and I need my daily dose of dark chocolate to keep me going.

How did you hear about FAT, do you remember your first session?

I discovered FAT via ClassPass. I came to New Zealand on my own and was looking for group training sessions to exercise and meet people. I decided to sign up for a Saturday morning session with Paul and guess what.. I really enjoyed it!

We have shared a few workouts together, what makes you keep coming back?

FAT kind of has everything I was looking for: challenging and varied workouts, great coaches, good music, nice community and atmosphere, good social drinks (sometimes paired with a cookie) at Williams.. And working out outside is also a game changer, especially when you can workout while enjoying a nice sunrise or sunset.

What would you say to someone hesitating to come to FAT?

If you never try, you’ll never know. Put your doubts and fears aside and come enjoy a fun workout with the FAT community! The coaches will guide you, the sessions are for all fitness levels and the vibes are just great.

Do you have a most memorable moment with us?

First Wednesday session coached by Frankie. During the half-time challenge, I was paired with a guy who was very strong and fast (too fast), and while he was sprinting, I had to slow him down by pulling on the elastic he had around him. At some point, the elastic slipped from my hands and slammed the guy’s back.. sorry buddy!

Outside of our weekly session, what is your relationship with exercise/movement?

Exercise/movement  has really helped me these past years. Today, I need my daily dose of exercise whether  it's through  low impact  activities, high intensity  workouts  or outdoor  activities.

Any movement goals in 2024?

2024 Auckland Half Marathon, here I come..
