Meet Cam, a FAT journey started in the middle of lockdown.

This is the story of Cam.
Cam started his FAT journey in the middle of lockdown after few months following us on IG.
Here is a little summary of his journey with us and we are sure that some of you can relate to it. Can’t wait to meet in person bro!

Cam, how did you hear about FAT, do you remember your first session?

I’ve seen it around heaps on instagram but hadn’t really given it much thought until this lockdown (so i’m pretty fresh). I remember feel pretty embarrassed about being 5 mins late, everyone clearly knowing what they were doing (on the zoom call) and being a total klutz. 5 minutes later I realised most people were in the same boat as me and once I got into it, it was really fun.

We have shared a few workouts together, what makes you keep coming?

It wasn’t until my girlfriend suggested I give it a try that I realised how good group training can be, I’ve always been more of a lone rider when it comes to exercise but I’m loving the variation the HIIT classes give my regular workouts. It’s been really great in Lockdown as well because the structured timing of the classes means I can’t put them off or do a half baked workout. I know if I show up and do the class, I have a full body workout done in 30 mins. Also, Kev’s burpees are a crowd favourite.

What would you say to someone hesitating to come to FAT?

It’s a totally different way of working out compared to some of the big name gyms with military style classes or big open spaces where you’re expected to know how every machine works. It’s as easy or as hard as you make it so whether you’re an exercise junkie or a someone with no clue where to start it can be great variation to chuck in to an existing routine, or a great place to start with all the motivation and moves mapped out for you.

What are your health, life goals for 2021?

Probably to take a more holistic approach to fitness, I’ve always loved going to the gym and running but I haven’t put as much emphasis on my nutrition and working on flexibility and supporting muscle groups. I think thinking and training more like an ‘athlete’ as opposed to a bodybuilder.

Do you have a most memorable moment with us (lol)? I'm expecting a few goodies

Hmm, this is my 5th week with the crew (virtually) so I can’t say i’ve actually met anyone in person! Kev calling me out in his distinct accent for not pushing myself is something everyone I’m sure can relate to though. I’ve heard there were some pretty wild workouts (like in the greenroom?) that I’m keen to be a part of after LD

What do you miss most about not being able to come to FAT during lockdown?

The fact I can’t go out for a coffee or a drink after :)
