Tell us a little bit about yourself

I'm Scarlett… one of the Fitness All Together yoga teachers. Once a graphic designer turned yogi, I love being able to share such an incredible practice with so many members of our community! I have been practising yoga for just over 5 years and I believe that it has changed my life for the better.

You’ve been on the FAT team for a little while now, taking corporate yoga classes almost every day. How did you hear about FAT?

Yep, well over a year now!! How time flies! I actually heard about FAT through a friend who was an avid FAT hit class participant! I then ended up coming along to one of  the FAT sunrise yoga classes guided by the wonderful Milly on the waterfront.

Can you describe yourself in 3 words?

Hmm this is always tricky, I would say, adventurous, open minded and determined.

What is your Health and Fitness background? How did you transition into yoga instructing?

I was a competitive figure skater when I was younger, so I’ve always liked to move my body. I got into yoga in 2017 and never looked back! The way it makes me feel and the teachers that I had made me want to be able to give that experience to as many people as I could and thus became a yoga teacher.

What do you love about practising yoga?

Yoga is a practice that has done wonders for me both physically and mentally. I love the way I can always come on to my mat and take time for myself, whether I need to shut my mind off or challenge my body. Yoga is so versatile, if you’re feeling a slow flow, or a sweaty hot class yoga has you covered.

What are your top 3 pieces of advice to build a Healthy routine?

Consistency- being consistent with your workouts and healthy habits is the best way to make them stick.

Small doses- this is a big one for me, nothing happens overnight, starting small and working your way up to your goals is satisfying, and helps to make the process fun.

Accountability- being able to hold yourself accountable is important but it can be made fun by getting together with friends and planning workouts to go to together, and in doing so holding each other accountable.

What would you say to someone who isn't sure about taking a yoga class?

I would say to feel the fear and do it anyway! It can be scary taking a yoga class for the first time but you could find it’s your new favourite thing to do. And don’t worry, despite what people often think, you don’t have to be flexible!!

What goals do you have for the remainder of 2022?

For the remainder of 2022 my goals are to create a 12 week yoga plan for our clients. Focusing on the basics and foundations of yoga. AND to enjoy the warmer weather!!!
